Guest English Teachers (GETs) work in public schools alongside regular Korean teachers of English. Their role is to help plan and execute language lessons to students in primary and secondary schools as part of the Korean Government’s goal to promote and strengthen English language education. Under the guidance of the GET supervisor, the guest teacher will:
- Conduct English conversation classes with students and teachers
- Assist Korean teachers with their English classes and/or jointly conduct classes
- Prepare teaching materials and activities
- Assist with activities related to English education (judge speech contests, record listening activities for listening comprehension tests, participate in English camps, etc)
GETs work regular public school hours and truly become part of the school faculty. Working as an EPIK teacher is an outstanding way to experience actual Korean life and culture, to become part of the local community, and to make a difference in the lives of students and co-workers. Of course, there are also opportunities to network with other foreign teachers. While you may be the only GET in your school, there will be others in the surrounding area.
GET yourself to Korea for an EPIK adventure! Apply now at www.aclipse.net/apply_now.html.
