ABOUT US :
Established in 1997, the Gyeonggi-do Institute for Foreign Language Education is the provincial government teacher-training institute for in-service teachers of the public school teachers of English as a language.
We are looking for dedicated and highly-competent native English-speaking instructors to join the team of 10 fellow instructors and serve at the institute for a year, starting from April 2010.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

To instruct Korean in-service public school teachers English to for their professional development course for English as a subject. Each program goes for a month, and courses such as Micro-teaching, Reading, Writing, Drama and Communication are taught. Off-campus 4 weeks’ local school instruction is required while some cultural excursion programs are available during the course of a year contract term. You can expect a solid professional support and development as an educator and teacher, with a fulfilling and comfortable on-campus life.

Commencement: April 2010, recruitment process to begin immediately following the interviews

Essential Requirement: a native speaker of the English language with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Education (of languages), with min. 2 years’ full-time teaching experience

Highly Desired:
*Master’s degree in TESOL/TEFL, Education, Applied Linguistics or a related field with teaching experiences over 3 years *Teaching Credentials *Interest and/or respect for the Korean culture, language with some international teaching / living experiences

Contract: 1 year (12 months) – renewal of contract upon mutual agreement

Remuneration:
1.Salary: 2.7 million – 3.1 million in Korean won per month, depending upon qualifications
/ experience, including the Living Support Allowance of 900,000won provided at the
completion of contract
2.Housing: Fully furnished modern on-campus apartment provided by Employer,
3.Settlement Allowance: 300,000 won
4.Paid Vacation: 35 business days during off-session periods
5.Severance pay: equivalent to one month’s salary given at the completion of a
12-month contract
6.Airfare: Reimbursed upon arrival
7.Benefits such as medical and national pension contribution.
8.Tax exemption applies with conditions

Working Conditions:
Office hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m including lunch break (12 noon -1.30pm)
Instruction hours per week: up to 21 hours only
Class size of up to 13 trainee-teachers only
